The Cleveland Browns have been projected to take nearly 10 different players with the sixth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft but one name has stuck in the minds of more Browns fans than any other; A.J. Green.
Green is a very physical receiver that has shown amazing promise at the University of Georgia. He has also said publicly that he models himself after his former teammate, Mohammed Massaqoui, who is currently with the Browns.
A.J. Green had an amazing season at Georgia in 2010 as he caught 57 passes for 848 yards and nine touchdowns all while missing the first four games due to suspension.The Browns have not had a wide receiver even come close to that amount of production since Braylon Edwards caught 16 touchdown passes in 2007.
The Browns obviously need help at wide receiver, but is that the biggest team need?
Nick Fairley is still on the board as far as many mock drafts indicate and Fairley was one of the most dominant forces in the entire NCAA last season. Fairley also won a National Championship with Auburn.
The Browns also do not have anyone to be a quality option at the defensive end position as Matt Roth is now a free agent and the team was previously built to run a 3-4 under Rob Ryan.
Cleveland has many team needs when it comes to the draft and this draft is more important than others as free agency is greatly effected by the current CBA.
As the mock drafts continue, one would have to wonder if the Browns could really pass on a talent such as A.J. Green.
